When the plague ran rampant through Europe in the 17th century, medical professionals were hard to come by. City officials began to hire these "doctors" to help treat the ill, but more importantly to dispose of the dead. Their trademark beaked mask stored herbs in the tip that were thought to ward off germs and distract from the smell of sickness.
This is BY FAR the longest any piece has ever taken me to complete, if I had to guess I would say probably 60 hours start to finish.
